Professional Development

The Office of Information Technology provides many opportunities for faculty and staff to improve their computing and technology skills.

Human Resource Development Training

Network and Computing Support conducts advanced computer classes for staff and faculty in conjunction with Human Resources Development (HRD). Schedules and curricula are determined on a semester basis and vary by class popularity and instructor availability. The HRD office conducts beginning computer training and handles registration for all training classes. See helpdesk.ua.edu/pcmac/training for more information.

Faculty Resource Center

The Faculty Resource Center (FRC) conducts workshops and seminars for faculty members interested in incorporating technology into their instruction. Its Web site, frc.ua.edu, has information on current courses. The resource library on the Web site contains materials from previous seminars as well as links to online courses via WebCT.
