FTP Clients for Windows
You should use SFTP instead of FTP whenever possible. Only use FTP when SFTP does not work.
The most popular FTP client on campus is WS_FTP LE.
WS_FTP LE is available free of charge for University students, faculty members, or staff members for academic purposes and for personal home use. It is not licensed for business use. If you need an FTP client for business use, you should purchase WS_FTP Pro or find another FTP client that does not have this restriction.
During the installation process, you will be asked where and how you will use the software. Your answers must fit the license terms mentioned above. (Faculty and staff should note that "school" is used to mean any University business, whereas "work" is used to refer to a commercial business.) If you cannot comply with the WS_FTP LE license, you should either purchase WS_FTP Pro or find another FTP client.
